An efficient time-saving electronic purchasing program is coming to Washington University!

Washington University has contracted with SciQuest, the leading provider of electronic procurement solutions for higher education. SciQuest, the choice of more than 65% of the top U.S. research institutions, will provide:

  • a streamlined requisitioning process
  • current contract pricing information
  • order acknowledgement and status
  • web-based "shopping cart" model with supplier catalogues
  • order history and purchase reporting tools
  • easy to use re-order templates
  • elimination of redundant requisition data entry

The program will be customized to interface with FIS. Our current business rules and budget controls will remain in place.

In order to meet a planned launch by summer of 2008, a project focus group has been assembled and first met in late January where they provided input regarding requirements when dealing with procurement issues. This group will reconvene in early March to review the progress of program development. The plan is to implement the Marketplace platform with a series of pilot departments in June. Full implementation is planned to begin in August.

Additional information will follow but should you have any questions at this time, please contact Greg Mosley at 935-5927

There are several open house informational sessions scheduled to learn more about the new Electronic Purchasing System coming to Washington University.

This program provides a web-based requisitioning tool driven by electronic catalogs and a shopping-cart environment. We encourage key end-users (those that create purchase requisitions) and others involved in the procurement process to drop by at their convenience to learn more about this exciting new program.

These sessions will be conducted on the following days and times:

Danforth Campus
