Marketplace Shopper Tutorials
All department participants should plan to view the Shopper web demos below prior to attending the hands-on training. It is expected that those attending the hands-on training will already have some basic knowledge on how to shop in the WUSTL Marketplace.
There are three different demonstrations available: Hosted catalog, Punch-out Catalog, and Non-Catalog Requisitions. Click on the appropriate logo, click on "run". Should a security box open, click on "run" again to start the demo.
Hosted Catalog:
A Hosted catalog is best used when specific supplier for the item needed is unknown or the shopper wants to search and compare items from multiple sources. You also have the option to search a specific hosted supplier catalog by clicking on the supplier logo in the "Hosted Catalog Supplier" section.
Punch-Out Catalog:
A Punch-Out catalog links directly to Wash U/Supplier specific web page and is typically used when shopper knows which supplier they wish to use to create their requisition. In the cases when a single supplier has both a hosted and punch-out catalog, know that the hosted catalog content is a subset of the most commonly ordered items from that supplier. The punch-out catalog provides the complete product offering of that supplier.
Non-Catalog Requisition:
A Non-Catalog requisition form is utilized when a requisition is being created for a supplier that does not currently have a catalog in the Marketplace. This is the same as entering a line-item document in AIS today.
General Program Notes:
- Existing FIS security will control processing of requisitions within AIS system.
- Those who can enter PO's for the departmental accounts today can submit requisitions from the Marketplace with only those accounts contained in their FIS security.
- Any employee can "shop" and create a shopping cart, but before the cart becomes an electronic requisition, it will route to departmental staff that must review and submit to the AIS system.
- Optional workflow can be defined to capture PI or lab manager approvals in Marketplace prior to departmental staff submitting requisitions to AIS.
