Welcome to the University Moving Services web page.

Call 935-6979!
For campus moves (office & laboratory)

Primary service for campus moves is provided by Brown-Kortkamp Moving & Storage.

How does this service work?

If you have a departmental move, call 935-6979.
You will be asked a few quick questions to determine the scope of your move.
You will receive a return call from a moving project manager to schedule a walk-thru for your move.
A move cost estimate will be provided within 72 hours after the walk-thru.

For household moves, you may contact:
Graebel, 344-9998
Dodge Moving & Storage (Mayflower) 344-4300 ext 313
North American Van Lines/ Cord Moving & Storage, 291-7440 ext 123

GUIDELINES FOR INTERSTATE RELOCATIONS and IMPORTANT INFORMATION

1. Inform new employee of moving company options.
2. Contact moving company representative with the following information:

a) Name of new employee
b) Address, city, state and zip code
c) Home and work phone numbers
d) Departmental contact name and work phone number
e) Approximate date

3. A local agent closest to the new employee will arrange an in home visit and send survey results to the St. Louis agent. The St. Louis agent will then apply all contract discounts and pass that estimate on to the departmental contact.

4. The carrier's (vendor) liability for loss and/or damage will be based on replacement value. Carrier may restore the damaged articles to their pre-relocation condition, or replace them at their full value, whichever is less. If lost or damaged household goods cannot be replaced or repaired, Carrier will pay transferee an amount equal to the cost of a similar item. Replacement Value Protection is based on an established value of $5.00 per pound times the actual shipment weight and will be provided up to a maximum of $100,000 at no charge to the person moving. For valuations in excess of this the charge shall be $4.00 per $1,000 of additional value.

5. It is of utmost importance to complete an in home survey and to declare any item(s) of high dollar value. This would include such things as jewelry, antiques, rare collectible items, objects of art, rare documents, etc.

Mover should always offer the option for additional insurance for these high value items at the time of the survey

6. The departmental contact will then put a purchase order on-line and pass the new purchase order number on to the local agency.

7. Once the move is complete, the moving company will send the invoice directly to the department.
The department contact should compare the invoice against the estimate. If the invoice is within 10% of the estimate, do receiving against the purchase order number and send the invoice to Accounts Payable, Box 1056.

8.. If there is more than a 10% increase over the estimated pricing, please inform Bob Weinstein in Purchasing Services at 935-4298.
